Jordan Poole’s development

Jordan Poole was the team’s first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Selected at No. 28, Poole was considered a reach by most analysts, but the Warriors decided they’d take a chance on the young gun out of Michigan.

Poole looked like a bust early in the season. He struggled to shoot well, and he was, at times, a liability defensively. Well, that type of play, which was even expected by coach Steve Kerr, saw him spending a bit of time with the team’s G-League affiliate.

He bounced back. Prior to the suspension, Poole averaged double figures in his last 13 games, scoring in 12 of them and only going under ten in one game which he played around 15 minutes. He’s proven that his playmaking can thrive at the highest level.

Poole will be an excellent contributor on one of the league’s worst benches next season. He’ll have to step up and lead, just like he’s done in the past month or so.

All of those are positive headlines in what has been a very negative season. But, be prepared. This team will bounce back, and they’ll be back with vengeance.
