3 players Golden State Warriors should’ve taken over Jacob Evans III
Shake Milton
The 23-year-old Philadelphia 76ers guard Shake Milton, an SMU product, came on late in the season, and it was no accident. Now, he’s here to stay, having played just 32 games this season and starting half.
Milton is a versatile offensive threat, as he was in college. Averaging 9.5 points per game, Milton is shooting over 45% from deep on the season and has been a huge boost to the offense as Ben Simmons has missed quite a bit of time nursing a back injury.
Having thrown up a career-high 39 points just five games before the league’s suspension, Milton was finally starting to show off his potential. In the nine games before the hiatus, Milton averaged 17.8 points and 3.2 threes per game on over 60% from deep.
It’s difficult to predict how these college stars will see their game transfer to the highest level. Well, just about every team missed out on Milton who was just as dynamic in his time at Southern Methodist.
Milton is going to be a star, and the Warriors, along with 29 other teams, watched him drop to No. 54 in the 2018 NBA Draft.
