After much consideration, the Golden State Warriors appear to be locking in on two NBA Draft prospects. Anthony Edwards and Deni Avdija.

Recent reports from Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle have suggested that the Golden State Warriors are not interested in the likes of LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman but rather have set their sights on more ‘NBA ready’ prospects such as Anthony Edwards and Deni Avdija.

This shouldn’t be a big shocker for anyone who has been paying attention to the Dubs this season. Although casual fans may be quick to assume the dynasty is over as the Warriors have plummetted to the bottom of league standings, it’s likely the franchise will make a meteoric jump back to the top next year.

Klay Thompson is coming and Stephen Curry was already in the midst of his return before the season was suspended. Together and with the help of Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, the Warriors will be a powerhouse in the West once again.

This means they will need a rookie who is ready to compete right away. Edwards may be the best fit for this. He carried a heavy load as a freshman for Georgia and shined as the ACC Player of the Year.

Edwards has natural strength and has sufficient size to defend NBA level players. His athleticism will take him a long way and mentorship from a great squad will help him become a great player in no time.

Meanwhile, Avdija has captured the attention of scouts everywhere. The 19-year old from Israel is projected to be a versatile forward that can handle the ball and score well. He is an obvious fit for the Dubs who thrive off of interchangeable wing-players.

It is still unclear where the Warriors will be in the draft order. As of now, they hold the highest odds to win the lottery but could fall as low as fifth. If they land the top pick, it seems they will be choosing between Edwards and Avdija.
