Aron Baynes

The Golden State Warriors have probably thought a bit too much about Aron Baynes this season.

If you don’t remember, Baynes was the player that challenged Stephen Curry’s layup when he went down with a broken left hand during the fourth game of the season, completely changing the season’s outlook for Golden State.

The eight-year pro has been a quality addition for the Phoenix Suns. He’s averaged 11.5 points per game and, at 33, could be in store for the best contract of his career after his performances this season.

Baynes has seven 20-point performances to his name this season. But, what’s even more shocking is that he dropped 37 in a game while also collecting 16 rebounds and connecting on 9 (!) threes.

After six years of averaging 0.0 threes per game, Baynes has improved tremendously and is now at almost 1.5 per game. His improvement should be noted, and just another reason the Warriors should target him.

Baynes is the most ideal addition, but either of the two could be looked at as low-cost options for the team’s frontcourt this offseason.
