The Golden State Warriors will have a slew of options if awarded a top-three pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and none make more sense than Dayton’s Obi Toppin.

This season has been tough for the Golden State Warriors.

With the season currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the States, many franchises should already turn and start considering the offseason rather than what the rest of the season brings.

The Warriors, who are 15-50 and currently the only team out of playoff contention, are one of them. Extremely likely to have the best odds at top-overall selection, the Warriors should have already been scouting for their next star.

Many think if the Warriors are gifted a top selection, Anthony Edwards would be the clear pick. However, it’s also likely they trade down, and if they do, there is then one clear option, and it’s Dayton’s Obi Toppin, one of the NCAA’s best players.

Toppin is currently projected to go in the middle of the lottery and could be an excellent fit for the Warriors. It’d be especially ideal if they can either clear additional cap space or bring in another future first-round pick.

Either way, Topping, for these three reasons, should be one Golden State’s most sought-after targets.
