5. More rest for Steph and Draymond

Steph Curry was set to make his return just before the season was put on hold.

Many were of the opinion that the Warriors should continue to rest his ailing hand in a season that means all but nothing for the Dubs, while ownership wanted to give loyal fans a show that they deserve.

Regardless of anyone’s opinion, 32-year-old Steph Curry will get additional rest, with almost a full year of no games played if the season were to be canceled.

Likewise, 30-year-old veteran Draymond Green, who the Warriors had been using rather sparingly this year, will also get a chance to let his body rest.

Green, an undersized center who has to put out exceptional effort to match up against larger players, was letting his fatigue and frustration show during the 2019-20 season.

While averaging 5-year lows in points, assists, rebounds, and point differential, Green was also well on his way to breaking his single-season record for technical fouls — an astounding stat when you consider he is playing 3 minutes less per game this season compared to last.

It’s safe to say Draymond needed this break.

Now, with this time off, two key pieces of the Warriors’ core — Green and Curry — will get extra time to rest their bodies and gear up for another title run in the 2020-21 season.
