Hindsight is always 20/20. Let’s look back at seven times the Golden State Warriors missed out on a future superstar in the NBA Draft.

No team is perfect. Even the best scouts in the world are wrong when it comes to selecting the best prospects in the NBA Draft. Like every franchise, the Golden State Warriors have missed out on quite a few superstars throughout the years.

It wasn’t until recently that the Dubs actually began to find success through the NBA Draft. Their big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were all drafted by the Dubs front office and went on to lead the team to three championships.

Curry was the highest pick of all of them, selected seventh overall in 2009. Thompson was taken 11th in 2011 while Green was an absolute steal in the second round at 35 in 2012.

Even with this recent string of success for the Warriors, they still have a history plagued by poor draft decisions. This is perhaps the biggest reason for their 50+ year title drought that ended last decade.

Today, let’s take a minute to reflect on some of the biggest superstars the Warriors whiffed on in the NBA Draft.
