6. Vince Carter

The fifth pick in the 1998 NBA Draft was traded a total of three times before it returned back home to the Golden State Warriors who initially dealt it in 1993 in part of another trade that will be mentioned later in this article.

Once Vince Carter was finally drafted by the Warriors, the trades weren’t finished just yet. The Warriors traded Carter on draft night to the Toronto Raptors for another rookie, Antawn Jamison (4th pick) and cash.

With the Raptors, Carter quickly rose to stardom. He won the Rookie of the Year Award and reached five consecutive All-Star Games in the following seasons. Carter became an icon in the league and delivered perhaps the greatest show in Dunk Contest history in 2000.

Jamison wasn’t a failure for the Dubs by any means. He played five seasons in Golden State and averaged a career-high 24.9 points per game in his third year. Jamison wound up playing for five other teams while reaching two All-Star Games and winning the 2004 Sixth Man of the Year.
