San Antonio Spurs

If the lottery went exactly as projected, the San Antonio Spurs would be sitting 11th in the 2020 NBA Draft.

With star guards in Dejounte Murray and Derrick White, the team is in prime position to help fill out Golden State’s bench. The Spurs need their next superstar, and if they view one of the draftees as that, they should deal at least White plus other assets for the Warriors’ pick.

White, a 2020 first-round pick and potentially high-level asset should be enough to secure the pick. With that pick, the Spurs would likely take Anthony Edwards, a player that would help fill out their roster and possesses superstar-like potential.

The Spurs aren’t used to being in the lottery.

Since the exodus of Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs just haven’t been the same. Finding a way to get back to the top of the Western Conference is paramount for a team that’s been the gold standard of the NBA for the last few decades.

While Edwards would make a great addition, he wouldn’t take them into playoff contention immediately. That’s why the 2020 and 2021 first-round picks could be the request. Two lottery picks and White for Edwards seems like a solid deal for both parties.
