Golden State Warriors: 3 best-value draft picks Dubs have made since 2010
Draymond Green
Knowing every player that was drafted before him, Draymond Green has blossomed into one of the best players of the 2012 NBA Draft. He’s certainly been the best second-round pick, having been selected 35th overall.
Green, a three-time champion and three-time All-Star, has seen his numbers dip since Kevin Durant‘s addition. Even though Durant left this season, not surrounded by as much talent, Green’s numbers stayed below-average.
However, he was a vital part of the team’s championship in 2015.
That season, he averaged 11.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and, more importantly, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Green, the league’s 2017 Defensive Player of the Year, is considered the glue that holds this team together.
His offensive unselfishness, shown by the fact that he’s averaged over six assists per game over the last five seasons, is a key part of the Warriors’ offensive game plan. Add in his defensive tenacity, and Green is a player, while not dominant, is the ultimate teammate.
Green may have a hot temper and his numbers may be declining, but there’s no denying that, when the moment comes, he’ll be ready.
