Klay Thompson

After having secured their superstar MVP Stephen Curry in 2009, the Golden State Warriors bounced back and found his quintessential running partner in 2011. That said, Klay Thompson has been everything the Warriors dreamed and more.

Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler were also taken in this draft and were both selected after Thompson. But, for the Warriors have needed, Thompson has been the perfect fit, becoming a five-time All-Star and three-time champion in nine seasons.

Having missed all of the 2019-2020 season with a torn ACL, Thompson had generally been an ironman, missing under 12 games per season in eight of his nine years. But, what’s even more impressive is Thompson’s mix of efficiency and production.

He’s averaged over 20 points per game for the last five straight seasons. What’s made him the quintessential partner to Curry is that A) he does it while playing terrific defense and B) he is an absolute sniper.

Averaging over 40% from downtown each of those nine seasons, Thompson has notched over three triples per game in the last five seasons. Those numbers and that efficiency is just incredible.
