Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry’s top 5 NBA Playoff moments

2. (2013) Curry’s arrives as a star in San Antonio
Prior to the 2012-13 NBA season, Stephen Curry was nothing more than a solid rising star. It was this year when Curry put the league on notice that he would be a force for years to come.
Although he was snubbed from the All-Star Game, this season marked the first of four times Curry would break Ray Allen‘s single-season 3-point record and was highlighted by (at the time) a career-high 54 points in Madison Square Garden.
Once the postseason began, the Dubs shocked the third-seeded Denver Nuggets and found themselves as massive underdogs to the San Antonio Spurs. This didn’t stop Curry from pulling out all the stops.
Curry was surgical in his attack in Game 1. Every decision was precise and his efficiency was off the charts. He picked the Spurs defense apart and put the Warriors in position to steal the game.
He finished the game with 44 points and 11 assists on 6-of-14 shooting from deep. The Warriors were defeated in double-overtime but this game was a statement from a 24-year old Curry.
