Jordan Poole

The Golden State Warriors watched Jordan Poole explode onto the scene late last season. Poole scored in double figures in 12 of the team’s last 13 games, and in the one he failed to hit 10 or more points, Poole played under 20 minutes.

The team’s 2019 first-round pick had come back strong after a relatively poor showing to start the season, having been relegated to the team’s G-League affiliate before bring recalled. However, his momentum was killed as the NBA has been suspended for weeks due to COVID-19.

While the team is still high on Poole, there’s a chance that coupling him with a pick and a player like Wiggins could produce a better fit for the team, potentially a player like Robert Covington.

Wiggins and Poole were ideal additions, but there could be better and a player like Covington is an example of one that could come in and be the quintessential sidekick to Curry and Thompson. That said, even as the team is seeming high on Poole, if he’s a key piece in a larger deal, he’s gone.

Much like Jacob Evans III was a piece in the D’Angelo Russell trade, Poole could eventually be sent elsewhere as the Warriors are in a win-now mode and need players that are experienced and ready to help them take their game to the next level.
