Draymond Green recently had some strong criticism for how Kevin Durant handled his departure from the Golden State Warriors.

Even though it’s been over a month since an NBA basketball game has been played, the drama cycle never ends. On Bleacher Reports Uninterrupted podcast, Draymond Green reflected on Kevin Durant‘s final season with the Golden State Warriors.

In typical Draymond fashion, there was no holding back. Green gave his honest opinion and was straight forward with how Durant’s handling of his contract put stress on the rest of the team. In particular, Green and Klay Thompson felt the brunt of the weight.

All season long, Green and Thompson were pelted with questions from the media regarding the approaching end of their contracts. In response, Green and Thompson assured the Warriors fan base that they planned on being Warriors for life.

Then, there was Durant, who refused to comment on his upcoming free agency. To Green, this was a move that put a tremendous amount of pressure on the team.

“But you can’t just leave the elephant in the room, because what happened is the question came to us every day,” Green said. “You (Durant) don’t really say s–t, you don’t say much to the media, if anything, you tell them to ‘Shut the f–k up.’ Well, I don’t tell them to ‘Shut the f–k up.’ I kind of have a conversation. So I’m stuck answering that question all the time.”

Green has a point. Durant’s impending free agency hung over the team all season long and undoubtedly played a role in them seemingly losing focus at times throughout the year. Still, most members of the team were reportedly ‘unsurprised’ when Durant chose to leave in free agency.

Durant has yet to respond to Green’s criticism and there’s no telling if he will choose to go back and forth with his former teammate or not. All we know is that Green clearly remains upset with how the two-time Finals MVP handled his departure.
