3 similarities the 90s Bulls and Golden State Warriors’ dynasties had
The coach
Head coach Steve Kerr had his primetime as a player as well. Having played for the Bulls from 1993-1998, Kerr was never the star of the show, but he was, at the very least, a contributor to several championship-winning teams.
Kerr played a league-high 82 games twice and managed to play the entire season in all but one of his five-year tenure in the Windy City. What’s even more insane is that as a player Kerr, during the 1994-1995 season, shot as insane 52.4% from three.
He didn’t stop his championship resume with the Bulls though. The season after the team’s 1998 championship, Kerr went to San Antonio, winning two more championships in four seasons with the Spurs.
Then, entering the ranks as a coach, Kerr has won three more titles with the Golden State Warriors. An eight-time champion overall, Kerr knows what it takes to win and, more importantly, how to keep the chemistry of a championship-caliber team together.
Although inheriting the throne to Golden State, Kerr has made the most of it and been a crucial part of both dynasties.
