He’s a fan favorite / face of the franchise

Stephen Curry wouldn’t be loved elsewhere near as much as he is by the Golden State Warriors’ fanbase. The only team that may come close is Charlotte as Curry was raised and went to the North Carolina-based Davidson for college.

Over the last decade, Curry has been through it with the Warriors. After tweeting out to all fans as a rookie that the team would figure it out, they did just that, and now they’ve brought three championships to the Bay Area.

Curry has become a fan favorite over his time in San Francisco.

His play with the Warriors has blossomed him into a global icon, and he’s widely known as the face of the franchise. Elsewhere, much like Michael Jordan late in his career with the Wizards, the passion from the fans just wouldn’t be the same.

That said, being paid handsomely, being loved by the fanbase and being trusted by the franchise are reasons why all signs point to Stephen Curry retiring as a Warrior.
