Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players of all-time. But, is he the greatest player in Golden State Warriors franchise history? Kendrick Perkins thinks so.

Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Durant have had a rocky relationship recently. Nonetheless, their feud hasn’t stopped Perkins from proclaiming Durant is the greatest player in Golden State Warriors history.

For some brief backstory, Perkins and Durant clashed on twitter when Perkins stated Russell Westbrook was the best player to ever play for the Oklahoma City Thunder. As Durant clapped back, things escalated to a point where insults were tossed back and forth.

Since then, Perkins has expressed remorse and publicly apologized. For the most part, Durant has ignored this event ever since.

Perhaps KD will break his silence now that Perkins has risen to his defense. On the Runnin’ Plays Podcast, Perk stated that Durant is the best player to ever suit up for the Warriors and Thunder.

There is a very clear distinction between being the franchise’s greatest player and simply being the best player to ever wear the jersey. For example, many would agree that LeBron James is the best individual player to wear a Los Angeles Lakers uniform but few would say he is the greatest Laker of all-time.

Durant’s brief time with the Warriors is hard to argue against. Two Finals MVP’s and three straight trips to the NBA Finals is no joke. However, none of that would have happened without Stephen Curry. Let’s not forget who stood in Durants path before he joined the rolling Dubs.

We can all respect Durant and the massive contributions he has made to the game of basketball. He will certainly go down as an all-time great for the Warriors franchise but he will never take the crown from Curry in terms of being the organization’s best player ever.
