Though the 2019-20 NBA season is awaiting a proper conclusion, the Golden State Warriors are already looking ahead.

The Golden State Warriors still have 17 games remaining on their schedule but Steve Kerr has stated that the franchise is currently in ‘offseason mode’ as they look to repair their dynasty before it comes topping down.

Currently, the Warriors have more to worry about than the last few games in an otherwise lost season for the team. The Dubs are perched at the bottom of the league standings and see nothing to gain from finishing the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season.

Instead, the front office is looking ahead to figure out how they can put themselves back in a position to compete for a title. A healthy Splash Brothers duo in the backcourt will certainly help but there is no doubt that more needs to be done in order to win another championship.

At some point, we will see the sports world go back to normal and the 2020 NBA Draft will take place. With this, the Warriors will make a crucial decision. Do they keep the pick? Or trade it for a more readily available asset? If they do choose to retain the pick, which prospect will they bet on?

Nobody seems too sure of what the Warriors will do. No prospect has put themselves head and shoulders above the rest and the potential for trade will loom over the Warriors all the way until draft day.

Then, there’s free agency. The Warriors definitely need to be searching for veteran players that can help round out the lineup. With Andre Iguodala‘s $17 million trade exception, we can also expect to see the franchise shop around during the summer.

While the rest of the NBA world is looking for a way to save the season, the Warriors are preparing to resuscitate their dynasty. This summer will be pivotal for the dormant Dubs.
