What are the Golden State Warriors looking for in 2020 NBA Draft?

It was reported in early April that they weren’t high on James Wiseman and LaMelo Ball. In some ways, that made sense; however, reports are now saying that Wiseman is at the top of their draft boards.

While Wiseman could be a potential star and a game-changing rim protector, it seems like quite the gamble given the limited tape on him. He did notch almost 20 points and over ten rebounds per game during his mere three games with Memphis.

That’s shouldn’t be quite enough to want to take him with a potential franchise-changing pick, especially since you could replace his potential first-season production with a player like Alex Len or Nerlens Noel, a couple forwards that’ll be on the market this coming offseason.

The Warriors have no need for a rim protector or an inefficient small forward on their roster this season. That’s why they should look to either trade back for a more NBA-ready player or just trade the pick for future draft capital.

Deals should open up and the talent in free agency should help make this an easy decision.
