Draft for fit

The Golden State Warriors can improve their roster next season by using their 2020 draft pick to bring in a player that could instantly produce.

Wiseman, a player that averaged almost 20 points and over ten boards per game at Memphis, would provide that low-post presence that Golden State had wanted DeMarcus Cousins to possess last season.

Wiseman is reportedly No. 1 on the Warriors’ big board, a positive sign that drafting for fit is of priority to the team. He’d be much more ideal than players like Obi Toppin and LaMelo Ball, positions they already have depth at.

The 7-foot-1 Wiseman would provide a presence defensively as well. During his mere three games at Memphis, Wiseman did dominate the paint, averaging 3.0 blocks per game. He’s the full package at center, a position the Warriors desperately need help at.

Quite frankly, his addition would be much more ideal than a player like Anthony Edwards who would directly compete with Wiggins for minutes at the small forward spot or LaMelo Ball who would be playing behind Stephen Curry.
