The Golden State Warriors have a collection of movable assets and they must make the most of it this offseason.

Every team in the league has a few assets that could be moved if the correct deal appeared. For the Golden State Warriors, it is vital they make the most of their movable assets this offseason.

The Warriors aren’t ready to declare their dynasty finished just yet. Though the team fell to the bottom of league standings this season, they have real optimism that they can do a complete 180 in a year’s time.

It will require a bit of adjusting to get the Dubs back to where they fell. Firstly, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will have to accept a larger offensive load as their supporting cast has dwindled significantly. A potential fix for this is for the Warriors’ front office to take full advantage of their tradeable assets.

The Dubs have quite a few players and draft picks that they can afford to lose. How they choose to move forward with these assets will have a direct impact on their success next season.

Let’s start with the players first. Andrew Wiggins might be at the top of their list as the former No. 1 overall pick has been reduced to a player with much more limited potential. It wouldn’t be difficult for the Warriors to find a replacement with similar talents that could even benefit them more defensively.

Then, there is Draymond Green. A longtime member of the Warriors roster, there is reason to be concerned about Green’s productivity moving forward. His athleticism is declining and his ability to be a game-changing defender won’t last much longer. It’s possible the Dubs elect to trade Green while his value is still relatively high.

Other players such as Marquese Chriss and Eric Paschall could find themselves on the trading block as they are two players who have shown promise but are yet to be solidified members of the Warriors’ next chapter.

Perhaps their most readily available asset is their 2020 NBA Draft pick. This pick could be a jewel to rebuilding teams looking to secure a high spot in the draft order. In the Warriors case, this pick just means adding another inexperienced prospect to their championship hopes. The Warriors don’t need the top pick in the draft and they could certainly work out a deal with a team that is hungry for a franchise cornerstone.

It’s unclear if the Warriors will pull the trigger on any deals before the season starts but it’s hard to imagine the front office isn’t exploring all of their options right now.
