There has been gaining steam that the Bucks should trade Giannis to the Golden State Warriors, although no creditable reports have yet to surface.

As much as I want the Golden State Warriors to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks really shouldn’t trade their reigning MVP. To be fair, unless Giannis notable wants out of Milwaukee, it’s unlikely there’s any movement.

Giannis is putting up almost unheard of numbers this season. For starters, Giannis is averaging 29.6 points per game. What makes that number is even better is that he’s shooting 54.7% from the field.

His improved shooting not only from the field but also from three-point range has made him that much more difficult to gameplan for. Giannis more than doubled his threes game now from last season, now at 1.5 per game.

Take on his double-figure rebounds with over five assists and a block and steal per game, and it’s obvious his numbers are, across the board, unmatched throughout the league. He’s just been incredible and is the clear MVP favorite on the Eastern Conference-reigning Bucks.

With the league having been suspended due to COVID-19 for over a month, rumors of Giannis being unhappy due to the Bucks’ shortcomings have mounted interest from outlets regarding what Giannis might cost.

Some suggest five-time All-Star and three-time champion Klay Thompson plus the 2020 first-round pick and the Minnesota 2021 first-round pick would be enough. Some think Wiggins plus those picks along with a third first is enough.

While the former would be a solid offer, unless Giannis, like Anthony Davis did, explicitly says he wants out, the Bucks should never even field offers. The former first-round pick is a generational talent given his length and strength.

His continued improvement is also commendable as Giannis has taken his game to levels that most never knew the young versatile forward was capable of. He’s incredible, and it’d be insane if any team is able to trade for a franchise-altering player.
