Marcus Smart, Robert Williams for Warriors’ 2020 first

The Golden State Warriors easily have the assets it’ll take to bring Marcus Smart to the Bay in his last season. After all, there are even rumors that the Warriors have been trying to load up for a mega-blockbuster deal to bring in Giannis.

Smart is one of the only players in the league that would immediately take the Warriors to a new level.

His gritty nature is worthy of a first-round pick, and having the ability to split the trade exception up, the Warriors could bring in both Smart and Robert Williams for that aforementioned trade exception.

Williams is a solid former first-round pick. He doesn’t much time on the Celtics as their frontcourt is loaded, but on the Warriors, he could serve as a terrific second-unit option. Combine the two, and then they may be worthy of a first-round pick.

If the Warriors strike on the lottery and don’t secure a top-three pick, this should be an option.
