The Golden State Warriors could easily deal their 2020 pick for a viable star that would help their roster return to real Finals contention.

That aforementioned star won’t be easy to come by. However, on the flip side of things, as the Golden State Warriors prepare for a top-three pick, prying it from their hands will be no easy task either.

The Warriors need help. While Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have been the main Big 3 on a championship-winning team before, it’s tough to envision that roster having the same dynamic next season.

They are tied up without much cap space, so truly improving their roster will come at some type of cost. That cost will likely start with Andrew Wiggins unless thee Warriors aim for a player like Giannis Antetokounmpo in which the initial cost could be the pick and Thompson.

Either way, the 2020 pick will be involved in any trade the team does for an established star. Grabbing the Timberwolves 2021 pick instead of their one in 2020, the team definitely hasn’t shown that they love the draft class given their actions.

While securing the pick may not be easy and could require the sacrifice of a star player, the Warriors and the other team may find it both in their best interest to flip the assets. That said, let’s dive into five players the Warriors could bring in for their 2020 first-round pick.
