Golden State Warriors trade targets: Aaron Gordon

The Golden State Warriors could use a small forward that’s better than Andrew Wiggins. While Aaron Gordon wouldn’t be an insane improvement, he would, at the very least, clear the team of Wiggins incredibly player-friendly contract.

Gordon’s stock is an all-time low.

He was notching around 18 points per game. After that career-high, his numbers went down to 16 and then all the way down to 14 this past season. Gordon’s got two years left on his contract and will make just over $16 million the second of the two.

An athletic 24-year-old, Gordon could slot in behind Thompson and Curry. After all, the Warriors don’t need a star.

They need someone to fill in as a quality role player. Wiggins could be that play, but Gordon could also find himself as a quintessential addition due to his length and his ability to defend the perimeter.

Gordon would be towards the low-end of the players that the Warriors should look into trade their 2020 first-round pick for, but he could, at the very least, be on their radar.
