Golden State Warriors trade targets: Caris LeVert

The Warriors need to find their next star. Not for this team, but for the Golden State Warriors that will come in the next half a decade.

While Caris LeVert may not warrant some incredible blockbuster deal, he, at the very least, has as high of a ceiling as many of the draft’s top picks. LeVert was averaging 17.7 points per game before the season was suspended due to COVID-19.

LeVert hasn’t shot a great percentage as one of the Nets’ go-to scoring options. However, he has increased his per-game average from 8 to 12 to 14 to 18 from his first season to his fourth. There’s no reason to think he can’t continue that trend.

Averaging a career-high 1.8 threes per game on a career-best 38.1% from downtown, LeVert, at 6-foot-6, could be the perfect addition. Already developed into a blossoming star, LeVert’s high ceiling may be enough to draft the Warriors.

His three-year, $52 million extension will kick in next season, and he’ll then make over $15 million. Still, LeVert should be a player the team looks into trading for, especially given the Nets’ star power with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
