Golden State Warriors trade targets: Rudy Gobert

This 2013 first-round pick would be a major defensive asset to the Warriors. In his seven seasons with the Utah Jazz, Gobert has proven to be a strong blocker, even placing 1st in the NBA in blocks per game in the 2016-2017 season.

Gobert has tabbed numerous awards in the NBA including two NBA all-team honors, and three All-defensive team honors. He’s easily the best defensive center in the league.

Despite Gobert’s defining defensive skills, he also has an extremely high shooting percentage. While he doesn’t have range, he is an absolute menace in the paint.

In the 2018-2019 season, Gobert led the league with a 66.9% field goal percentage. Gobert consistently showcases this high shooting average, as he possesses an impressive 64% career average.

Gobert also participated in the All-Star game this year, another reflection of his dominance. With Gobert’s efficiency and ability to protect the rim, the Golden State Warriors would gladly take him in if he were to be traded after causing a rift between himself and star Donovan Mitchell.

We’ve gone into deeper detail as a Gobert-Green swap was suggested recently by Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher.
