Potential stardom at top

LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards seem to be the top two prospects in the draft. While James Wiseman and a few other international talents will pose threats at the top, it really seems to be Ball and Edwards running away as the players with the highest ceiling.

For Edwards, many look back at his streak against Michigan State to show what he could become. Edwards went off in the second half, scoring 33 of his 37. The Bulldogs were down over 20 entering the half and cut it down to four at one point.

That type of spark wasn’t rare for Edwards. He has an ability to heat up and stay hot. His athleticism plus his shot and aptitude in almost every area of play make him an ideal addition, but his floor is also extremely low if he can’t get his footing in the league.

For Ball, it’s all about the intangibles. He’s a smooth 6-foot-7 point guard.

He has all the attributes that may elevate his game to the next level. While he certainly needs to be more efficient, there’s no denying his length and vision makes his ceiling easily among the draft’s best.

Both could be superstars that the Warriors potentially pass up on.

Losing out on stars, watching their return decrease value, and bringing in players that don’t quite fit are all reasons why the Warriors should be hesitant at dealing their potential No. 1 overall pick.
