Less risk of injury

Let’s be real, the Golden State Warriors are one of the best teams in the NBA. The 2019-2020 season was spoiled by injury, not by the team’s inadequacies. With a possible return comes possibilities for injuries.

While Stephen Curry didn’t say anything as far as what his specific actions would be if asked to play, it would’ve been interesting to see if he went with the Damian Lillard approach and would not participate in meaningless games.

He already replied to those comments from the superstar guard, showing he understands his point of view.

While other players are important as well, the meaningless games tied to the long list of injuries Curry has had in his career wasn’t the mix fans should’ve wanted to see.

As for Klay Thompson, he was clearly never planning to return even if the Warriors were asked to play in Orlando.

Obviously sparing players like Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and others from racking up the unnecessary mileage when they need to be preparing for a Finals run next season seems ideal.
