2. Immediate support
Something that might help the Golden State Warriors more than drafting for a future star is targetting a prospect that is ready to support them right away. This would be an older player that is more willing to play a decreased role in the name of helping the team.
Two prospects instantly come to mind. Tyrese Haliburton and Obi Toppin are both experienced players that made leaps during their second year of college.
Toppin had a successful sophomore season, averaging 20 points and winning the 2019-20 AP Player Award. His pure 3-point stroke would help space the floor for Golden State and his athleticism would make for some exciting fast-break opportunities.
Meanwhile, Haliburton is a high-IQ prospect that has shown to make great decisions with the ball in his hands. He is perfect for filling in as a backup point guard and can initiate offense for the second unit.
