The Golden State Warriors have had the expiration date for their Andre Iguodala-created trade exception pushed back. Here’s who they should target.

Initially a concern, the Golden State Warriors have seen their trade exception expiration date pushed back. The $17.2 million trade exception has been pushed back to October 25, a week after free agency kicks off.

The Warriors may not necessarily use the exception given how tough the times has been financially due to coronavirus. However, if they do use it, it will give them an opportunity to vastly improve their roster.

For that money, the Warriors won’t be able to get a superstar, but this roster doesn’t need that type of player to be elevated to a title contender. They just need a few pieces in their frontcourt to really put it all together.

While top-tier stars like Lakers’ Anthony Davis will be available, there are several others that could make an impact on this roster. After a 15-50 season, the Warriors will certainly look to return to contention, but how they do so will be interesting.

That said, let’s dive into five players the team could sign with their trade exception.
