Golden State Warriors: 7 Rising Stars they can target in next two seasons
By Tony Pesta
6. Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson became notorious in college for being an elite stretch big. Thus far in the NBA, Johnson is on pace to do it all over again as he shoots 39.7 percent from deep on almost five attempts per game.
The Phoenix Suns have benefitted from Johnson’s ability to spread the floor. Having a release valve on offense was one of the main reasons for their improved record this season. Johnson could find success growing alongside Devin Booker and D’Andre Ayton.
Or, he could instantly be a key member of a title team if he joins the Warriors. Johnson is exactly the type of shooting big man the Dubs are missing right now. A small ball lineup featuring Johnson would be absolutely killer for the Warriors.
The only issue with his game is he has yet to develop many other skills. Johnson isn’t a strong defender or rebounder. His shooting is his only saving grace but that is all he needs to bring value to an NBA team.
