1. Donovan Mitchell

Turmoil in Utah has opened the flood gates for trade rumors. The duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert wasn’t likely to win a title in the first place, but their recent feuds should put the nail in the coffin for this franchise. We can expect one of them to be traded soon.

On paper, it makes the most sense for the Jazz to hold onto Mitchell. But, as we know all too well in the NBA, you can’t always get what you want. If the front office doesn’t handle this situation with delicacy, Mitchell could demand his way out of Utah.

In this case, the Warriors will be one of many teams jumping on a chance to acquire the 23-year-old All-Star. Cap space is obviously an ongoing issue but their $17 million dollar trade exception, along with a contract like Andrew Wiggins or Draymond Green’s, would be enough to get this deal done. Of course, the Dubs would have to throw in at least one of their upcoming first round draft picks if they don’t want the Jazz to hang up the call immediately.

The path to bringing Mithell to Golden State is complicated. However, the Warriors shouldn’t be ruly any possibilities out. If Mitchell becomes available, the front office has every reason to submit their best offer.
