3. Marc Gasol

Back in the early 2010s, Marc Gasol was changing the game as a versatile defender at the center position. His strength on the defensive end helped him steal the Defensive Player of the Year Award (despite being Second-Team All-Defense) and pushed the Memphis Grizzlies to an appearance in the Western Conference Finals.

Those days are long gone for Gasol but he is still functioning as an important role player for the Toronto Raptors. Serving as the starting center for the second-best team in the East, Gasol is posting 7.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Warriors fans should remember Gasol as being one of the core pieces to take them down in the 2019 NBA Finals. Gasol was magnificent on defense during that series, constantly disrupting pick-and-rolls by being agile and long enough to trap Stephen Curry at halfcourt. Gasol’s defense is an asset the Warriors would absolutely love to gain. Not to mention, he is a skilled passer and great screener.

Gasol is currently on the back end of a massive $113 million dollar contract that began five years ago. Entering his mid-30s, it’s possible Gasol is willing to accept a smaller deal with the Dubs to compete for another title.
