2. Serge Ibaka
Marc Gasol isn’t the only member of the Toronto Raptors that the Warriors should have interest in. Serge Ibaka has always been a top-tier rim protector and could fill a void for the Dubs.
Last season, the Warriors ranked 20th in blocks per game. They gave up the 7th most second-chance points and almost placed in the bottom 10 for opponent points in the paint.
Ibaka is a solution to this problem. He is a muscular forward/center that can anchor the Warriors defensively. Ibaka is posting an above-average Defensive Rating of 105.0 and ranks second on the team in blocks. He also leads the Raptors in rebounds.
The Raptors are paying Ibaka a hefty $23 million dollars this season. Signing for the Dubs MLE would be a steep drop off for the two-time block champ but it’s not often 30-year old big men receive big contracts this deep into their career. This means the door is open for Ibaka to accept a one-year deal with the Dubs.
