Golden State Warriors: 5 low-profile under-25 free agency targets
Emmanuel Mudiay
One of the first to opt to play overseas instead of in college, Emmanuel Mudiay spent a season in China before coming to the league. A top-ten pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Mudiay, like Vonleh, has been a journeyman, playing for three different NBA teams.
Draft by the Nuggets, Mudiay was a wild card. He spent two and a half seasons with Denver before being dealt to the Knicks. Averaging double figures in his first two seasons, Mudiay has had two huge problems that have plagued his career.
Mudiay, for starters, couldn’t stop turning the ball over. He averaged 3.2 turnovers his rookie season and 2.4 last season. Per 36 minutes, Mudiay has averaged over four turnovers each of his five seasons.
Secondly, Mudiay just can’t score efficiently. He shot under 39% his first three seasons, but that is trending upward as he’s shooting over 47% with the Jazz this season.
Mudiay is starting to come around, and he could thrive behind Stephen Curry in Golden State. The two parties could be an ideal fit, and it may give Mudiay a good chance to revive his career.
That said, all five of these would be solid options for the Golden State Warriors.
