3. Vernon Carey Jr.

Last season at Duke, Vernon Carey Jr. dominated as a 6’10” big man with agility and skill. Hs 270 lb frame made him a bulldozer and his athleticism made it difficult for opponents to keep up.

As a freshman, Carey led the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds. His consistent production helped push Duke to a 25-6 overall record and earned him the ACC Rookie of the Year Award.

Carey was a very efficient scorer, converting on close to 60 percent of his field goal attempts. He was also strong on the other end of the floor, blocking 1.6 shots per game. His skill set as a rim runner is something that should intrigue the Golden State Warriors.

The Dubs don’t have a player of Carey’s size and athleticism on their roster. Sure, Marquese Chriss showed bright flashes down the stretch of the season but the center position is certainly a weak spot for the Warriors. Drafting Carey and watching him grow could be a winning move.
