Golden State Warriors Rumors: 5 backup point guards to sign this offseason
Emmanuel Mudiay
A top-ten pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Mudiay was one of the first players to usher in the era of which skipping college and playing overseas is acceptable. He played a season in China before being drafted by Denver seventh overall.
Mudiay had a few good seasons with the Nuggets, but turnovers and poor shooting has continued to plague his career — one reason he’s gone from Denver to New York and now to Utah all in half a decade of playing in the league.
Playing 48 games for the Jazz, Mudiay is averaging 7.3 points per game. Finally, he’s starting to shoot well from the field, but his volume has gone down drastically after nearing 15 points per game last season.
However, just about every team would rather see him shoot 47% from the field and 36% from three than shoot poorly and just toss up more shots.
He’s shooting a career-high from the field, downtown and two-point range. Couple that with a career-low in turnovers, and Mudiay may be a solid addition if the Warriors want to give him the keys to their second unit.
