The Golden State Warriors need to comb through the 2020 NBA Draft for potential point guards that can fill in as ideal backups for Stephen Curry.

In past years, the Golden State Warriors have made their most of their NBA Draft picks. The franchise has hit more often than not with their selections, giving us a reason for optimism heading into the upcoming draft.

Perhaps the only benefit to finishing as the worst team in the league is being granted the best odds to win the lottery. Golden State has a 14.0 percent chance of earning the top pick, tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

With their most recent draft selections, the Warriors took Eric Paschall and Jordan Poole. While Poole has left a bit to be desired, Paschall has proven to be the steal of the draft, taken late in the second round but likely to be a member of the All-Rookie team.

Paschall is just one of many solid picks for the Dubs. Don’t forget, Draymond Green was taken in the second round as well. It’s obvious the front office knows how to judge incoming rookies. This year, they need to focus their attention on these five guards as each could serve as a backup for Stephen Curry.
