1. LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball might not be the best prospect for the Golden State Warriors in terms of fit, but he is the most electric player entering the 2020 NBA Draft.

Ball wowed scouts with his intelligence and feel for the game. He is a natural at point guard, always one step ahead of the defense and reading plays before they happen. As a result, Ball nearly led the NBL in assists as a rookie.

He is gifted at creating off the dribble. Ball has no fear in going for home-run plays and his teammates are forced to play with their hands up at all times as there is no telling when he could whip a pass their way. This is an intriguing skill set to have for a player of his size.

Ball has some work to do as a shooter. His unorthodox form has hurt his efficiency. However, he is incredibly talented at finishing around the rim and has shown a soft touch on the run. His floater has range, becoming his go-to move on drives to the hoop.

The Warriors won’t be able to offer Ball the freedom he needs to thrive and reach his peak early on. But, if he embraces a sixth-man role and works on perfecting his skills, he can one day be the face of the franchise.
