Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol was an instrumental part of the Toronto Raptors 2019 NBA Finals run, one that helped dethrone the Warriors. After this season, the former Defensive Player of the Year will hit the market, potentially having his sights on one last championship run.

For Golden State, Gasol would bring everything the team could possibly desire in a center. He proved in the Finals that he can switch onto guards and play adequate defense.

Also a lane-stuffer, the 7-footer could be the rim-protecting presence Golden State would cherish. On top of all that, much like Baynes, Gasol has a much-improved three-point shot, something every team likes to see.

Averaging under eight points per game after nearing 20 just half a decade ago, Gasol has become more an afterthought offensively. However, shooting over 40% from three and being a lengthy dependable big man has allowed him to stay on the court over 27 minutes per game even at 35.

Gasol will still be 35 at the beginning of next season, assuming we have a season starting in 2020. That said, if he’s there for the MLE, Gasol is a must-add center for the Warriors.
