Andre Roberson

Andre Roberson played his first game with the OKC Thunder since halfway through the 2017-2018 season. Making a three in what was surely an emotional return for the forward, Roberson looked great.

The Thunder first fell in love with Roberson because of his defense.

Much like Robert Covington, Roberson makes his living locking down elite opponents. His shooting needs improvement, but with Thompson, Green, and Roberson, the Warriors would a top-tier defense.

Given the dominance in the West, bringing in a lengthy defender would be a plus. Roberson has had over a 1.0 defensive box plus-minus in each of his five seasons in the league.

Although his free throw shooting is among the worst in the NBA, Roberson’s defensive abilities keep him on the court. Those instincts are exactly what should increase Golden State’s interest in the 6-foot-7 veteran.
