Nerlens Noel

Nerlens Noel made his debut with the New Orleans Hornets in 2014. A lottery pick in the 2013 draft, he missed his entire “rookie” season. In his second year after leaving college, he made the All-Rookie team while scoring 9.9 points per game.

Noel is now with the Oklahoma City Thunder and has turned into quite the efficient scoring threat. In the 2019-2020 season, the Kentucky alumnus shot a stunning 68.5% from the field. While most of his attempts are around the rim, those numbers are still very impressive.

As time has gone on though, Noel has been given fewer minutes with the teams he has hopped around on. If the Massachusetts native can keep that shooting percentage up, he may earn more minutes, especially if he were to join the Warriors.

What initially made teams covet Noel was his ability to play around the rim. He’s an athletic 6-foot-10 center and can add a new dimension to the team’s frontcourt. Per 36 minutes, Noel averaged 2.0 steals and 2.9 blocks.

That’s impressive, and a huge reason why the Warriors should target him. His play in the bubble could be the remind Golden State needs. He’d be a perfect fit and a player the Dubs must consider targeting.
