Meyers Leonard

Meyers Leonard may be looking at a larger contract this offseason than Golden State would want to give. While he’s yet to break out as a star, the stars are aligned for Leonard to have a high impact on a franchise next season.

Leonard, along with players like Duncan Robinson, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, has been a major reason the Heat are among the best teams in the Eastern Conference. He joined them after spending seven years in Portland.

This season, Leonard has averaged 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

He’s making a three per game and shooting 41% from downtown as well. Add in the fact that he’s playing under two quarters, and it’s clear that with the proper run Leonard could see his numbers both jump up drastically.

The Heat a 5.5 points better with him on the court. He’s impactful, and he’d be a great addition for Golden State. Starting all 49 of his appearances this season, I’d expect Miami to toss him a sizable contract this offseason.
