Derrick Favors

The New Orleans Pelicans, at least for the first eight games, will be one of the most entertaining teams in the league. Behind Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball, and Zion Williamson, this team will must-watch basketball.

One player on their roster oftentimes underrated is power forward Derrick Favors. A 29-year-old, Favors peaked when he averaged 16.4 points per game with Utah, the place he spent the bulk of his career.

Now, Favors is averaging 9.2 points and 9.9 rebounds per game in 24.2 minutes.

What’s nice about Favors’ play is that he’s doing it more and more efficiently. From 49% to 56% to 59% and now at a career-high 62%, Favors has continued improving his percentage despite seeing his per-game averages drop.

Favors is making $17.65 million this season. With declining production, he could be a solid MLE signing for Golden State.
