20 free agency targets the Golden State Warriors should scout in the bubble
Emmanuel Mudiay
Instead of playing at the collegiate level, Emmanuel Mudiay opted to play in China for a year. He came back and was a top-ten pick, drafted by the Denver Nuggets. However, once he actually got into the speed of the league, Mudiay struggled.
Mudiay had both turnover and efficiency problems. His upside was obvious after just his first season, one which he averaged 12.8 points per game on 36% from the field, also notching 3.2 turnovers per game.
In Utah, he’s started to correct those issues. He’s playing just 15.7 minutes per game, but his efficiency is up to over 47%. He’s shooting the deep ball at a 35.5% clip as well. Both percentages are career highs.
Mudiay is a mere 24. If we’ve seen one thing from Golden State, it’s that they love to give second, third or fourth chances to players. Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss and two premier instances where giving them another chance can help boost their marketability.
In Golden State, Mudiay could take over the second unit and lead, but he needs to prove he can do it at the highest level in Utah first.
