Danilo Gallinari
Born in Italy, Gallinari has been on fire these past two seasons. About to turn 32, Gallinari is in his first season with the Thunder.
Primed to make a postseason run, the Thunder have immensely exceeded expectations as Chris Paul has also improved his play. Gallinari has spent the last two seasons with the Clippers after being with the Nuggets for the bulk of his career.
As for Gallo, he’s averaging 19.2 points per game, the third-most of his 11-year career. He’s coming off a career-high 19.8 per game last year as well. As he’s aged, he’s improved, and with the Warriors, he’d be the quintessential small-ball four.
If Green can play the five, a combination of Gallinari, Green, Wiggins, Thompson and Curry would possess elite playmaking. Gallinari stands 6-foot-10, so while he’s never been a terrific rebounder, he has the ability to change that.
Thriving in isolation, Gallinari could also be tossed on the second unit and told to take over. He has multiple uses and would be an ideal addition at any price. The trade exception may be a value the two sides would be willing to agree on.
