Kelly Oubre Jr.

The Washington Wizards gave up on Kelly Oubre Jr. It almost feels as like he took that personally and went into Phoenix ready to prove himself at the sport’s highest level. He did just that this season.

Oubre Jr. has exploded onto the scene as an elite scoring and sharpshooter. With top-tier athleticism to enhance his threat driving to the bucket, Oubre Jr. is finally starting to unlock his potential.

A key part of the Suns’ roster this season, Oubre Jr., as the Suns begin playing meaningful games in the bubble in just a few days, averaged 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists, all career highs for the fifth-year star.

What makes Oubre an even more attractive addition is that he’s averaging 45.2% from the field and 35.2% from deep. Both of those also the highest of his career.

For a team that is prioritizing shooting, Oubre Jr. should be an easy target. However, the team, like with Rubio, would have to trade for Oubre Jr. as he still has one year left on his contract, valued at $14.4 million.

Depending on the cost, it may be worth bringing in the 24-year-old as his upside has been on full display this season.
