Marco Belinelli

Veteran Marco Belinelli is likely the only one of the three that’d be added on the minimum. However, if he joined Golden State’s second unit, he may easily have a greater impact than you’d assume a player making $2.3 million would have.

A liability defensively, Belinelli is still an elite outside shooter, something we’ve already noted Golden State desires. The 34-year-old 6-foot-5 shooting guard snapped his streak of consecutive seasons averaging double figures as he notched under six points per game this season.

On a young Spurs team, Belinelli is still at 13.9 points per 36 minutes; he just wasn’t given the time of day with the team looking to develop their youth.

Given that Belinelli is more of a specialty weapon, that shouldn’t be too much to turn your nose at anyway. Shooting 37% from downtown and nearing a 50% effective field goal percentage, Belinelli would still be a consistent threat behind Klay Thompson, providing a similar offensive style.

That said, Belinelli isn’t the star addition that takes Golden State to the next level, but he is a player that could make the team marginally better.
