Rudy Gay

Rudy Gay has spent the last three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, but it may be time for a new California team.

Gay touts multiple honors including being on the 2006-2007 All-Rookie team, in addition to that, he also has many honors in which he finished in the top 20 of a respect stat. This includes five seasons where he finished in the top 20 for points per game.

He’s consistent, and he’s proven that throughout his career.

The UConn alum consistently shoots around 45.6 percent from the field. Some of his other stats though are on a roller coaster. Gay has had multiple seasons where he tabbed over 20 points per game, but in his time with the Spurs, he has never averaged more than 13.7 points per game.

He needs more opportunity and on Golden State’s second unit he may find it.

Gay would be a trade target, not a free agency signing which makes things a bit more complicated, but with the Warriors considering trading their 2020 first-round pick, San Antonio may be able to find their next Kawhi Leonard if they’re will to part ways with other future assets.

While all three could be unlikely additions, they all have clear upside for the Warriors. The Dubs should at least look into what these three, for different price ranges, could bring to the organization.
